Poetry and the like I have written over the last year. Some Seiku, some sonnet, some just good old fashioned rhymes.

The Ending

I held her tight and carried her.
Her trusting eyes looked into mine.
I pushed my face into her fur.
I smelled her coat for one last time.

My  cherished pet I let you go.
Your love without question I took.
Why does this thing have to be so?
This end is different from the book.

You trusted me without question.
You placed your life into my hands.
Your eyes mirrored my reflection.
You never knew what I had planned.

You took the cup and looked at me.
You sipped the nectar of your end.
You never asked how it would be.
You went on and did not pretend.

And as you drifted off  to sleep.
My heart broke and I cried for you.
The thing you gave I could not keep.
There was nothing which I could do.

I watched your eyes as they grew dim.
The spark shone bright right to end.
How could I do this deed so grim.
How will I ever make amends.

And now you've passed, forever lost.
My heart heavy for what I've done.
My future purchased at what cost.
And you forever now are gone.
