Words I have written

Poetry and the like I have written over the last year. Some Seiku, some sonnet, some just good old fashioned rhymes.

Untitled

I looked up at the night, icy black and cold.
The new moon peeked from behind her veil
As Jupiter chased after somber and old.

I looked about as the starlight fell so pale.
It's brilliance cut deep into my heart
And were it touched, it left a deep searing trail.

I wondered lost, unsure of where I should start
Gathering these sparks of distant hope.
I faltered in wonder, what would be there part.

The Ending

I held her tight and carried her.
Her trusting eyes looked into mine.
I pushed my face into her fur.
I smelled her coat for one last time.

My  cherished pet I let you go.
Your love without question I took.
Why does this thing have to be so?
This end is different from the book.

You trusted me without question.
You placed your life into my hands.
Your eyes mirrored my reflection.
You never knew what I had planned.

You took the cup and looked at me.
You sipped the nectar of your end.
You never asked how it would be.
You went on and did not pretend.

And as you drifted off  to sleep.
My heart broke and I cried for you.
The thing you gave I could not keep.
There was nothing which I could do.

I watched your eyes as they grew dim.
The spark shone bright right to end.
How could I do this deed so grim.
How will I ever make amends.

And now you've passed, forever lost.
My heart heavy for what I've done.
My future purchased at what cost.
And you forever now are gone.

#3

Words, constrained by form, I look to the Muse
To open my heart and guide my hand,
To show me the ways of this foreign Land,
To shake from my mind the webs which confuse,
And put forth the vision I see so grand.
For what reason do I feel so driven
To express this dream I have been Given?
From whence come these words which I have  not planned?
The touch of her, unsteady, uneven,
A flash of insight breaches my heart.
A flicker of light that brings forth a start
Then my pen moves. My point is proven.
And ever do her charms  humble me.
By your grace lady, I will always see.

#2

Prism Scattered light dances in my eyes
Many colored patterns set my soul free
Are these images of truth or of lies
That break away the scales and let me see
From whence comes this brilliance? Where does it start
The illumination that fills me so
Painting a dappled picture in my heart
An image into which I wish to grow.
It starts as a spark deep within your soul.
Then spreads to me as we merge into one
I don't think that ever this was the goal
But it happened sure as the rising sun
And if ever that light a shadow cast
I hold the memories forever fast

#1

A task she said she had for me to do.
A simple thing really, not big at all.
You must prove to me that your heart is true.
By your success in this you rise or fall
Of my body, tell which three parts do you
Delight in most? Which cause your heart to stall?
Commit to paper, it's not much for you
To find three quatrains and a couplet, that's all.
Your lips my Mistress come first to my mind.
Comes next is the subtle curve of your hips.
A man I'd not be, or else I'd be blind
If e'er your bosom from my mind would slip.
These three things I truly cherish, and yet,
Mostly it is your mind I can't forget.

Welcome

I have on occasion written words for some people. It has been suggested by them, and there opinion I respect, that I should make these words available to the public. So here they are.
